Jobs

At SAV, we develop websites and back-end software to solve our clients’ problems and help them grow. Because it’s the future, we do everything online, so no messing around with C++. We build websites that bring our clients business and web-based software that helps them deal with that business.

What does this mean in practice? Simply that you’ll be working on real projects that help real people. One week you’ll find yourself designing and building a swanky AJAX website; the next you’ll be solving a client’s gnarly business problems using only a database and ASP.

We take pride in being innovative, building our own solutions and delivering things that others cannot. You should have the same approach. You’ll be close to or involved in all of the decisions that affect the way we do things. This isn’t a job where you'll be kept (or can keep) out of the spotlight.

We build using Microsoft technologies and Adobe software, so you can be sure of having great tools, including a big workspace and monitor. Full details of the skills you’ll need are below; suffice to say for now that you’ll need to be (a) smart and (b) able to get things done.

We’re a friendly company with a relaxed working environment.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Someone with a quality portfolio. You don’t need a long CV; we’ll take you straight out of college or university if you can show you’ve got passion and some sweet skills. In particular, we’re looking for innovative solutions that use the technologies we work with.

Someone smart. You'll need the ability to take responsibility and the drive to use it. You'll need to be intelligent and independent and, as you'll be working with clients directly, you'll need *outstanding* spoken and written communication skills.

Someone with a great attitude. We’re a small company so everyone matters: we want someone who’s fun, friendly and keen to learn. Of course, you’ll need to pitch in with everything, whether it’s the latest project or maintenance of existing code.

Given the above, you’ll deliver great stuff, get great experience and have fun doing it.

- Classic ASP (and, as a bonus, ASP.NET)

- An appreciation of good design

You don’t need:

HOW TO APPLY

Send us a CV with a covering e-mail to jobs[at]sav.co.uk. In the e-mail give us real, live URLs of stuff you’ve done. A portfolio of work we can look at is very important and a personal site's a bonus. This is a chance to really impress!

Please tell us when you will be available and your salary expectations. You’ll need to be based in London, so that you can work from our office in the West End. You’ll also need the right to live and work in the UK.

We’ll let you know what happens and may call you for a chat (don’t forget to include contact details, and any times that are particularly good/bad for getting in touch). If all goes well, we’ll invite you to interview and you can visit the office and meet the team. If all goes really well, we’ll look forward to you starting!
